ActionPoint was founded in 2005 by close friends and technology enthusiasts, David Jeffreys and John Savage. Frustrated with the standard of technology services they experienced themselves they set out to build an IT and Software Development team who could deliver a truly exceptional service. Back then they had the foresight to see technology as a business enabler – when done right of course.
Their promise was simple; ensure clients had the IT infrastructure, Software and support they really needed to support their business. David and John now steer one of Ireland’s fastest growing technology companies. They have built a talented team of business and technology experts, who share their vision and understand the potential that properly applied technology can bring to business.

Chief Executive Officer
David is the co-founder and CEO of ActionPoint and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the company. David has more than 15 years’ experience in the IT industry. Under his leadership, ActionPoint has achieved significant year on year growth, expanded overseas and has adopted a customer focused marketing strategy.
David is also President of Limerick Chamber of Commerce, where he passionately champions the commercial and cultural growth of the Mid-West region of Ireland.
After graduating from the University of Limerick in 2001 with a degree in Computer Systems, David began his professional career working alongside university friend John Savage at US company DataMate Global. In 2005, David's entrepreneurial spirit took hold and together with John he founded ActionPoint.
David’s goal is to build ActionPoint into the largest technology services business in Ireland, through continued international expansion and by building an industry leading cross-discipline technology team. All of this will help to further ActionPoint’s mission of helping companies achieve their greatest potential using the power of technology.
Chief Operating and Technology Officer
John is the co-founder and COTO of ActionPoint and has been working in the software and IT industry for over 20 years. He has deep technical expertise on software architecture and systems development along with operational management of large technical teams. In his operational management role, he is driving the alignment of the Software and IT teams within ActionPoint toward the singular goal of Helping our Customers reach their Greatest Potential using the Power of Technology.
John graduated from the University of Limerick in 2001 with a First- Class Honours BSc in Computer Systems. He is one of only four people in the University's history to graduate with a perfect score of 4.0. John spent several years working in the US and climbed the ranks to Lead Software Engineer with DataMate Global. Returning to Ireland in 2005 he joined forces with his college friend David Jeffreys to establish ActionPoint.
Head of Culture and Development
Mary Kenny is Head of Culture and Development at ActionPoint. A key role within the company, Mary acts as a strategic advisor on people, culture and development related initiatives.
Mary’s qualifications include a Degree in Human Resource Management from GMIT and an MSC in Performance Management & Workplace Learning from the University of Leicester. Mary has held senior level HR positions in multinational organisations such as Becton Dickinson (BD) & Medtronic. Her vast experience in Talent Management, Employee Relations and Organisation Development ensure that Mary is well placed to advise and support the ActionPoint team.
Head of Software Services
James Gunning is Head of Software Services at ActionPoint, where he is responsible for the smooth operating of ActionPoint’s wide-ranging software development function.
James has almost thirty years’ commercial experience. Before joining ActionPoint, James was Director of Systems at Pramerica. In this position, James was responsible for establishing operational and software engineering excellence. James has also previously held the roles of CTO at Candidate Manager and VP of Engineering at Xsil.
James is a graduate of Dublin City University (DCU) where he received a Master of Engineering in Electronic Systems, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics (Hons).
Director & Chairman
Ger is Director and Chairman of ActionPoint and has more than 20 years’ experience in the IT industry. He has been involved in a number of successful technology start-ups. Ger founded software business Engage Technologies Group and co-founded the networking systems integrator Bridgecom Group.
In recent years, Ger has focused on helping established technology companies to scale and grow both in Irish and International markets.
Ger is focused on helping ActionPoint to build and execute a business strategy that will enable the company to not only strengthen its presence in international markets but also enable it to develop into the largest technology services business in Ireland.
Peter Hunt is ActionPoint’s Marketing Manager. Having joined the company in 2017 as Content and Social Media Manager, Peter soon proved his leadership capability and took up the role of leading the department.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Business Marketing and Management from Limerick Institute of Technology, Peter spent a year in San Francisco working with and co-founding a number of Startups. On his return he picked up 2 awards at Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur competition in 2015.
Peter's blend of entrepreneurial thinking and creative problem-solving has helped ActionPoint to grow its brand and break into new markets. Peter's immediate goal is to develop a world-class Marketing function to enable the company's long-term and continued growth.
Director of Sales
Karl Dowling is Director of Sales at ActionPoint and is responsible for driving sales across Ireland, the UK and US. Karl manages all aspects of the sales process and plays a key role in the development of ActionPoint's growth strategy.
With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Karl has over 10 years’ experience in the Technology industry. Karl joined ActionPoint in 2009 as a Senior Sales Executive and was quickly promoted to Sales Manager. In 2011 he was appointed Director of Sales. Committed to finding the most appropriate technology solutions for ActionPoint clients, Karl’s understanding of business success is second to none.
IT Services Director
Jonathan is the technical lead at ActionPoint Technology and has been working in the technology industry for over 15 years. He has wide range of technical expertise in the IT infrastructure stack and a passion for doing right by the customer. He has helped clients grow their technology base from 10s to 1000s of staff.
Jonathan joined ActionPoint in 2006 from the SWS Group where he was lead network & systems engineer. He has stayed at the cutting edge of technology by keeping on top of certifications from industry leading vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, VMWare & Dell.
An acute trouble-shooter Jonathan keeps client’s infrastructure running at the highest levels of performance through technical leadership and by mentoring the ActionPoint team of engineers.
Head of IT Services
Stephen Collopy is Head of IT Services at ActionPoint Technology Group. Stephen has been with ActionPoint since 2013 where he first joined the team as a Systems Engineer and Solution Architect prior to being selected as Head of IT Services. In this role, Stephen is responsible for the successful running of ActionPoint’s Managed IT Services Division.
Having completed a Masters of Science, Digital Forensics and Computer Crime, Stephen’s ever-growing list of certifications and accreditations also include Commvault Solution Architect, Nutanix Systems Engineering Specialist, VMware, Sophos Certified Architect and Engineer, Dell SC Series Storage Professional and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Productivity.
Head of Finance
Shane Farrell is Head of Finance at ActionPoint. A key role within the company, Shane’s background in performance leadership and financial effectiveness make him the perfect fit for ActionPoint. Having graduated from NUIG with First Class Honours in Business and Accounting, Shane was later certified by Chartered Accountants Ireland.
His extensive portfolio has seen him work at organisations such as Kerry Group, Arrabawn, Genworth Financial and Axa. Shane is passionate in enabling operations to enhance customer experience and service delivery, and to optimise the cost of providing that service to our clients.
